At Spine Care Of Saratoga all Chiropractic and Spinal Decompression treatments are performed by Dr. Brian E. Sweeney, that's me.

I was born in Potsdam, NY in 1971 and moved to Saratoga before I reached the double digits in age. As a young child I dabbled in many sports but eventually settled on hockey and lacrosse. It is these rough sports that necessitated my introduction to chiropractic care. I also spent a considerable amount of time in the U.S. Army.

I attended Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, NY after graduating from high school in Saratoga. Before I finished my associate's degree I decided to go on active duty in the army. So, off to Germany I went for two and a half years.

After my years in the army, I went out to Western State College in Gunnison, Colorado. I was a Kinesiology major with the intent of becoming a trainer or a physical education teacher. As one might guess, I had to take Anatomy and Physiology while in Colorado. Thanks to a brilliant teacher, Karen Cookson, this was a turning point for me in my life. Here I learned many of the incredible functions of the human body. The amazing sequence of events that take place in the body during nerve and muscle activity blew my mind, so I decided to apply to chiropractic schools.

While in Saratoga I was lucky enough to receive free chiropractic care from my mother's boss, Dr Richard J. Sweeney. It was there that I learned the benefits and the importance of good chiropractic care. So of course later on in life when in search of a direction, chiropractic became an option.

After briefly working in the Syracuse area I applied to New York Chiropractic College in Seneca Falls, NY. I wrapped up a few more pre-requisites at Cayuga Community College and began Chiropractic School in 1998. Chiropractic College proved to be very challenging and invigorating. Chiropractic School is a five-year program condensed into three and a half years time. We are in classes year round and each trimester we take approximately 25 to 28 credits. It was here that I made some very close friends that will endure through my chiropractic career and my life. So, if ever in Montreal, Canada don't forget to see Dr. Viet C. Nguyen for top-notch chiropractic care. I was an associate doctor in Philadelphia for a few years before finding another position in Wilmington, Delaware. I learned a lot in Delaware and this is where I was introduced to the "Triton DTS" Spinal Decompression System. I learned from Dr. Timothy Martin how to use this treatment to get results with patients suffering from disc herniations and facet joint problems.

I was longing for a sense of community and the comfortable feeling of being in a familiar place, so I packed up and headed back to Saratoga. I've learned a lot while working in other states and am very pleased with my expertise in chiropractic. I opened Spine Care Of Saratoga and I promise not to leave Saratoga again!
